Grounded in Place, Connected Globally
The Planetary Party Protocol is a living practice finding its roots in bioregional communities around the world. These pilot bioregions are testing, refining, and demonstrating what regenerative transformation looks like.
Each pilot bioregion is unique, shaped by its ecology, culture, and community. Yet all are united by a commitment to sense, decide, and act together in service to life.
Pilot bioregions are communities that:
Each activation feeds data, stories, and frameworks back into a shared knowledge commons, making replication easier.
Activate 2 Bioregions
Pilot the full protocol, testing all systems and creating templates for others.
Engage 4 Bioregions
Expand to new communities while deepening existing activations. Build cross-bioregional learning networks.
A Global Web of Locally Rooted Expressions
Each bioregional activation generates data, stories, and frameworks that feed the knowledge commons, making the pattern easier to replicate.
Costa Rica is a global leader in ecological regeneration, with over 25% of its land protected and a commitment to carbon neutrality. Yet challenges remain: inequality, development pressures, and the need for economic models that truly serve life.
The Costa Rica Planetary Party brings together indigenous communities, permaculture projects, regenerative tourism initiatives, artists, and innovators to co-create a bioregional future.
Costa Rica Planetary Party 2026
Location: TBD (Central Pacific region)
A week-long convergence featuring:
Southern California is a landscape of contrasts: ecological abundance and scarcity, immense wealth and deep inequality, innovation and extraction. From the mountains to the sea, this bioregion is home to diverse ecosystems and communities working toward regeneration.
The Southern California Planetary Party weaves together indigenous nations, regenerative practitioners, social justice movements, artists, technologists, and visionaries committed to healing this place.
Southern California Planetary Party 2026
Location: TBD (LA/Ventura bioregion)
A transformative convergence including:
The Andes bioregion is home to some of the world's most ancient wisdom traditions and biodiverse ecosystems. Indigenous communities have stewarded these lands for millennia, maintaining practices that regenerate rather than extract.
An emerging Planetary Party activation is exploring how to honor and amplify these traditions while supporting communities facing pressures from development, climate change, and cultural erosion.
In Exploration Phase
Currently in dialogue with local communities and organizations to explore alignment, needs, and possibilities for a future Planetary Party activation.
Timeline and approach will be determined by community readiness and invitation.
Beyond the initial pilots, conversations are emerging with communities in diverse bioregions around the world. Each will unfold at its own pace, guided by local leadership and readiness.
Cascadia Bioregion
Conversations underway with indigenous nations, forest defenders, urban agriculture networks, and cooperative movements.
Status: Initial dialogue phase
Prairie Restoration Bioregion
Exploring partnerships with Lakota and other indigenous nations, regenerative ranchers, and prairie restoration projects.
Status: Relationship building
European Mediterranean Bioregion
Interest from communities in Spain, Italy, and Greece working on food sovereignty, migration justice, and ecosystem restoration.
Status: Early conversations
Mekong Delta Bioregion
Dialogue with indigenous communities, permaculture networks, and water sovereignty initiatives along the Mekong River.
Status: Exploratory phase
Aboriginal Songline Bioregions
Interest from Aboriginal communities and allies exploring bioregional regeneration rooted in indigenous knowledge systems.
Status: Initial outreach
Great Rift Valley Bioregion
Conversations with indigenous pastoral communities, permaculture practitioners, and wildlife conservation initiatives.

Is your community ready to host a Planetary Party? We're looking for bioregions with:
Each bioregional activation generates data, stories, and frameworks that feed back into a shared knowledge commons, making the pattern easier for others to replicate.
We scale through replication, not centralization. Each Party is unique to its place, yet all are connected through shared protocols and learning.
